SHARK Watches commenced operation in 1997. Our original founders, a group of young, sport and fashion savvy friends, came up with the idea of creating a fashionable, robust watch aimed entirely at the younger, sporty type man. They decided upon the name SHARK because sharks in the sea never stop swimming - if they did, they would sink. We thought this typified our vitality, youth and zest for men the world over. It is sharing a passionate approach to life, love and fashion – they are powerful and always keen to try new ideas. SHARKs never stop swimming!
SHARK gives the younger man choices, with many different styles and designs for the man who has previously only had one watch to wear for every occasion. Now men can take advantage of different watches that stand out, rather than the same old styles of years gone by. The 21st century has brought about change and in changing times, men have changing ambitions and want changing fashion. We like to say that SHARK is CHANGING FASHION WITH TIME.

From the earliest days, SHARK has always listened to the market. The recognition as a major global brand grew, so did SHARK's focused on creating branded, registered designs and cutting edge products.
SHARK’s attention to detail began to be recognized worldwide - simple little things such as the packaging, materials and concepts were re-designed every year using fresher better materials. This helped to build the branded appearance and unswerving strive for quality at SHARK. Many exceptional designs were created during these early formative years. We began to gain widespread market appreciation, and customers began to show their new accessories to friends and family. They also gave us their opinions and ideas about new design possibilities.
Numerous customers began to comment on our Facebook page, giving us plenty of “likes” and displaying their SHARK watches for others to see. Our reputation grew and spread, and today we have thousands of friends on Facebook. The SHARK name is both respected and loved all over the internet.
Many customers have a whole collection of SHARK watches and we are delighted when they post a picture on Facebook and say “Hi guys! This is the SHARK I’m wearing today!” SHARK gives men an extensive choice of designs to suit a wide variety of occasions and moods, and are proud to be known as a watch designer that makes a difference.
The brand color of SHARK watches is red and was chosen carefully. Red is associated with vitality, power, strength, energy, passion, desire and love. At SHARK we see it as the color of young men who are bold and energetic.
We also use a shield in our logo. In early days, warrior soldiers carried shields, and we view this symbol as representing men who are tough, strong & modern day warriors at heart! With the elements of the color red, the shark, with the shield in the logo, SHARK creates an image of courage, strength and vigor.
In the design of SHARK watches, red and black feature strongly in most cases. When SHARK became widely accepted as a young man’s fashion icon, the company focused on creating branded designs and products, and produced several acclaimed registered designs. At SHARK, our skilled designers and product managers take care to ensure that every watch makes a high end, robust fashion statement. Each time we launch a new model, we want to make an impact on the marketplace and our customers, especially in the new technological advanced SHARK Fashion Series.
Original design and continuous improvement are the hallmark of SHARK watches. SHARK watches are divided into four collections which include SHARK Fashion, Racing SHARK, Duo SHARK, and our Limited Edition SHARK Collector series.
The timepiece movement is the core of SHARK watches, and theoretical design is brought to life in the form of the first prototypes. Our specialists manually assemble all the various parts of the movement in order to check each detailed parameter specifications - step by step, paying attention to every detail.
At SHARK, new products must withstand our prototype stages. This includes the movement as well as all of the other components that make up the product. Completed watches are subjected to a range of rigorous tests in the development phase.
SHARK watches are checked for resistance to physical impact, thermal variations, rate regularity, and endure tests simulating several years of wear. All functions in SHARK watches are subjected to stresses unlikely to occur during normal use.
The manufacturing process of SHARK watches begins in the Design Studio. Each of the main components and the movements are designed, crafted and hand-created. After an initial round of machining and casting, every part undergoes further milling and processing. Small parts are bored, ground, filed and finally polished in order to prepare surfaces for the precision finishing operations. This enables precise, individual adjustments to be made.
Our watchmakers and skilled engineers in Research & Development oversee the entire process - from the design stage to the final production of the 100's of unique, tiny pieces. Many pieces are microscopic and the challenge is one of scale. Some 200 – 300 moving parts have to be assembled into a very small, precise space. The pieces have thousands of interactions, must work in harmony with each other in order to ensure the strength, durability and reliability of every watch we produce.
Each watch and movement must undergo a finishing operation, even if the surface will be covered by other components and never seen. This applies to everything like the bridges and other main integral parts, and requires a skilled goldsmith with experience and expertise. The sharp edges of the metal part of the movement are beveled. The tiny edges are first softened and then polished by hand in several stages in order to produce a finish which is magnificent.
Each piece is inspected at the many stages of the work. As each piece is moved from one workshop to the next, the parts are checked when they come into a workshop, and checked before they leave in order to go on to the next stage of manufacture. Indeed, each design workshop has its own checking equipment and the SHARK Quality Control Department is in overall charge of the entire manufacturing process.
Every watch and component is checked to ensure that a SHARK watch meets and exceeds the company’s quality criteria. Each is given a final check before it can be packaged and dispatched to one of our loyal SHARK customers around the globe.
